The New Generation of Light Therapy devices for home use

The New Generation of Light Therapy devices for home use

Light Therapy Devices using Red, Blue Light have evolved to include new therapy technology. Our 2023 (home use) device collection includes these advances- see the new features

This article will explain the new additional therapeutic features and relate them to our current product range also where available, we are providing links to published scientific papers covering these additional features.

In addition to the traditional RED and BLUE light PURPLE and GREEN have been incorporated. Other new features include EMS, IPL, vibration, and heat/cold.

EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation)

What does EMS do for your skin?

The EMS function gently lifts and tones your skin, upping your collagen and elastin production. Your body uses these building blocks to restructure scaffolding under the skin's surface, remodeling from within. The result is more elastin fibers and collagen thickness.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) sends a pulsing current specifically to the muscle, causing it to periodically contract and relax. In medical use, EMS is considered the safest electric current therapy.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

What Is IPL Treatment? Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin without surgery. It can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure -- called photoaging.

https://www.healthline.com/health/ipl-treatment#ipl-vs-laser-treatment     “ IPL is similar to a laser treatment. However, a laser focuses just one wavelength of light at your skin, while IPL releases light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash. The light from IPL is more scattered and less focused than a laser. IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your skin”.

VIBRATION

Does vibration help with red light therapy?

Red Light & Vibration Therapy is a novel approach where the benefits of red lights and vibration have been utilized to promote healing. This type of phototherapy is effective in treating a variety of conditions.

LIGHT Therapy takes advantage of a phenomenon called photobiomodulation, which is how different components of our cells are activated or respond to different wavelengths of light,

PURPLE LIGHT (400-430 nm)

Purple is not an LED  itself self but a combination of red and blue wavelengths, offering dual benefits of both skins clearing (blue) and anti-aging (red). Purple is also beneficial for cellular oxygenation and regeneration to promote enhanced skin fitness and vitality. To lock the skin's deep nutrition, tighten and diminish the fine lines under the eyes. It can promote cell membrane regeneration, improves healing, helps eliminate toxins, reduce inflammation, and repair skin. Unblock the lymphatic and circulatory systems and promote lymphatic metabolism. Makes your skin delicate and smooth.

GREEN LIGHT (525 nm)

Greenlight causes the small blood vessels that lie just beneath the skin to close and disappear. Therefore, making their appearance less visible. Also, researchers indicate that green light is an effective treatment method against skin problems, such as rosacea and erythema, as it soothes the affected skin area.

. Green LED light therapy is also used for treating circles under the eye, sunspots, and dilated skin capillaries alleviating redness and inflammation in rosacea and post-acne redness. It also prevents dark spots, by reducing the production of skin pigmentation.

RED LIGHT (630 -850 nm)

Red light therapy devices shine red and near-infrared light onto the skin, stimulating the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) within the mitochondria. By stimulating ATP, damaged cells heal, and new cells are produced faster than normal.  Red light therapy comprises both red light and infrared wavelengths, penetrating through the skin’s layers, right into the cells. Red light wavelengths boost collagen and elastin and improve cell communication. It penetrates superficially and helps aid various skin conditions.

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/22114-red-light-therapy  Red light therapy (RLT) is an emerging treatment that’s showing promise in treating wrinkles, redness, acne, scars, and other signs of aging.

BLUE LIGHT (405-470 nm)

Blue light therapy, also known as photodynamic therapy, is a type of light treatment that's used to treat diseased or damaged skin. It uses medications called photosensitizing agents along with specific wavelengths of blue light to destroy abnormal skin cells while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. blue light therapy is best for acute skin conditions like oil production, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and breakouts.

Blue Light Phototherapy Kills Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Blue light has been shown to be able to have up to 100% bacterial suppression over the proper intervals. The blue light causes photoexcitation of endogenous porphyrins that leads to the generation of reactive oxygen species, which are toxic to bacterial cells.

Blue light treats acne

LED light kills bacteria on the skin.

Bacteria are sensitive to light, and Blue  Light is proven to be the best light available to kill bacteria that live on your skin. It's an effective treatment that kills various types of bacteria that live inside and outside of our bodies.

Scientists believe blue light therapy may help manage acne because blue light rays help destroy the P. acnes bacterium responsible for producing acne. They may also have an anti-inflammatory effect on keratinocytes, the most common cells in the outer layer of the skin.

Oral Health

Blue Light can help whiten teeth, target, and kill bad bacteria, and freshen the breath. On the other hand, red light can help to reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and improve gum health.
